Pushing Daisies; gen
This was originally meant to be a Ned/Chuck mix, but I love all of these characters so much that it became a general mix. I mean, if you cannot love all of them you must be without a heart.
01. Architecture in Helsinki: The Cemetery ; General
- everyone you forgot
everything you could need
everybody's gonna make it to the cemetery
there's a fab
there's a yick
there's a jenny
there's a karen
there's a paul
there's a jack
there's a denny
Ned: I asked you to not to use the word zombie, it’s disrespectful. Stumbling around squaking for brains, it’s not how they do. And undead? Nobody wants to be un anything. Why begin a statement with a negative? It’s like saying I don’t disagree. Just say you agree.
02. Beirut: Rhineland (Heartland) ; Ned
- life, life is all right on the rhine
no, but i know, but i know
i would have nowhere to go
no, but there's nowhere to go, to go
Chuck: You can’t just touch someone’s life and be done with it.
Ned: Yes I can. That’s how I roll.
03. Regina Spektor: Reading Time with Pickle ; Chuck
- has it always been this way?
is it possible that all this magic went unnoticed?
maybe now things will start to change
and life will turn a better page
no more rage
saying love is the answer to a question that i have forgotten
but i know i've been asked
and the answer's got to be love
Chuck: I guess dying is as good a reason as any to start living.
04. Julie Doiron: No More ; Lily and Vivian
- no more singing in the woods
no more singing in the car
no more singing in the streets
no more singing in the bars
no more singing into your eyes
no more singing into your arms
no more singing in the yard
no more singing in the park
Aunt Lily: I’ll get my gun.
Aunt Vivian: And I’ll get the candy bowl!
05. Frank Sinatra: The Best is Yet to Come ; Olive
- the best is yet to come and babe won't that be fine
you think you've seen the sun
but you ain't seen it shine
wait 'til the warm up's on the way
wait 'til our lips have met
and wait 'til you see that sunshine day
you ain't seen nothing yet
Olive: Do you … touch anything?
Ned: Of course, I, uh, I touch lots of things.
Olive: Affection – when was the last time someone touched you with affection?
06. Julie Andrews: My Favorite Things ; Emerson
- raindrops on roses,
and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles
and warm woolen mittens
brown paper packages
tied up with string,
these are a few of my favorite things
Emerson: The fun part is counting my money in the bubble bath.
07. The Blow: Come On Petunia ; Ned/Chuck
- every little thing she does is magic
everything she does just turns me on
and even though my life before was tragic
now i know my love for her goes on
Ned: Everything we do is a choice. Oatmeal or cereal. Highway or side streets. Kiss her or keep her. We make choices and we live with the consequences. If someone gets hurt along the way we ask for forgiveness. It’s the best anyone can do.
08. Travis: Flowers in the Window ; General
- there is no reason to feel bad
but there are many seasons to feel glad, sad, mad
it's just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold
but i am here to help you with the load
wow, look at you now
flowers in the window
it's such a lovely day
and i'm glad that you feel the same
Narrator: And The Pie Maker realized that while some obstacles may never disappear … you can always find a way to work around them.
Please comment if you take any part of this mix.
